Figure 1.0 (Above): One key to preventing bad data is helping the user to understand what input is expected. Figure 1.0 shows a "tool tip" that appears when the user hovers over any field.
Figure 2.0 (Above): Another key in the process of "training" the users of forms is to give them simple, understandable feedback when they make a mistake. Figure 2.0 displays an error message after a user has incorrectly validated a form.
Figure 3.0 (Above): The validation stamp is the key element of this demonstration. It is a read-only, hidden field that is inaccessible to the user. When the user has successfully validated the form a Validation Time Stamp is sent to that field. Additionally, if the user returns to key elements of the field, the Validation Time Stamp is removed. Thus, any form turned in without this Validation Time Stamp is immediately subject to scrutiny.
